Richard
announced
on
19th
Feb.
that,
after
28
years
as
Incumbent
in
Hagley,
and
also
serving more recently in Clent as well, he is to retire in the summer.
His
last
Sunday
leading
worship
will
be
Sunday
30
June
,
when
there
will
be
a
Benefice
Holy Communion service and farewell in St John’s.
He
is
then
given
a
month
by
the
diocese
to
move,
without
any
duties,
before
officially
retiring at the end of July.
Archdeacon
Nikki
called
a
Preliminary
Vacancy
Meeting
for
all
Hagley
and
Clent
PCC
members,
at
7.30
pm
on
Thursday
7
March
in
St
Saviour’s
Church,
outlining
the
steps
and provisions in the selection and appointment of Richard’s replacement
Richard
himself
will
not
be
attending
this
meeting,
as
convention
dictates
that
a
retiring
priest is not involved in this process.
Please pray for God’s blessing on our two parishes, as we enter this time of vacancy.
