His last Sunday leading worship will be Sunday 30 June , when there will be a Benefice Holy Communion service and farewell in St John’s. He is then given a month by the diocese to move, without any duties, before officially retiring at the end of July. Archdeacon Nikki called a Preliminary Vacancy Meeting for all Hagley and Clent PCC members, at 7.30 pm on Thursday 7 March in St Saviour’s Church, outlining the steps and provisions in the selection and appointment of Richard’s replacement Richard himself will not be attending this meeting, as convention dictates that a retiring priest is not involved in this process.
